Emma the Rattray Rabbit – Ikea Monkey look out you have competition
Hi Winter Wonderland Adventurers,
This Sunday we took a walk in one of my favourite places by Lake Ontario. While the trails are not maintained in the winter, getting out to enjoy the snow and see the large waves of Lake Ontario after a large storm always brings me joy and make the uneven trails worth it.
This time, nature had a few delights for us. Our little dog Mickey was determined that everyone who met him would say “oh, isn’t he cute”. That was achieved by being too little for the deep snow and having to jump like a rabbit from boot print to boot print. Well he was soon “out cuted” by a real rabbit who was wearing a little outfit and a hat!
Meet Emma, The Rattray Rabbit.
I think perhaps the rest of the world might think the Greater Toronto Area is missing out on how nature is supposed to behave with dressing up Monkeys and Rabbits and keeping them like pets. Little Emma was totally bonded with her owners and never strayed too far from them. She was friendly and curious with our Papillon and so sweet to watch hop around. I even got to hold her.
We had a great chat with her owners and learned that Emma likes the kayak too. Lots of other nature lovers passed by – all saying hi to Emma – she must be a regular as everyone seemed to know her.
This coming weekend, why not plan a walk in nature. Not only will the sights and sounds bring joy to your mind. body and spirit, you might just meet The Ikea Monkey or Emma the Rattray Rabbit.
May your day be filled with cute animals that bring you joy.
To Emma who made me smile all day.

Emma is so sweet! And that photo of her and Mickey is delightful. Thanks for getting my day off to a great start, Jo-Ann.
