Why my daily Green Juice is so needed right now – Who is your COHO?

Green Juice for the whole family

Hi Wellness Path Followers,

What health journey the last couple of weeks have been.  My daughter is home from her school year in Thailand.  She has not been feeling great and so my energy has been put into teaching her about food, nutrition, green juice and making it for her as she recovers.  We have been using an integrated approach to wellness and while the road is not smooth, I am pleased to see how the naturopathic, holistic and allopathic communities are working together.

While you personally are the CEO of your body, I am learning a lot about how you really need to have a Chief Operations Health Officer (COHO) who is the centre point for all the logistics that support your wellness journey.  Finding a friend or a family member to support you is key – especially when you do not feel well.  It is hard enough to remember all the info when you feel great, so having your COHO with you really helps when you are ill.  And yes, I am the COHO for my daughter.

You also need to have established a great community in advance who can help you when you need it.  I feel blessed to have so many people in my wellness community who have provided guidance and support as we work together to get my daughter to her optimum health.

Leave me a comment below on your thoughts on the COHO.  Do you think you need one when you are ill?  Who would you pick?

For now, the whole family is drinking green juice to stay healthy, build our immune systems and bring the nourishment we need to fuel our bodies.

To creating a wellness community who support you on your journey.

I am grateful.

Jo-Ann Blondin, your 9CupChallenge partner.

  1. Absolutely excellent advice, Jo-Ann. I have learned in dealing with health issues (and fortunately I have had few, but still) that you have to do your best to be your own advocate; you can’t assume that others will. But the absolute best is to have a COHO (I like that term!) to work with you and, as you say, look after the logistics when you’re not up to it.

Hey, could you post your green juice recipe again sometime, or link to it?

  2. Jo-Ann, the idea of a COHO is simply excellent. I am very fortunate in that my partner is my COHO. He’s my biggest supporter and nurturer. He has recently been very supportive in encouraging me to leave a long-term high-stress job that was wearing away my good health, and has continued to support me as I go through the process that I think of as “detoxing from my career.” I don’t always remember or make time to do the things that I should be doing for my health, but my COHO is always there to help me. Your daughter is very fortunate to have you supporting her.

    1. Marlene, glad your partner is your COHO. Sounds like he is a great supporter and very caring. Detoxing from your high stress job will be an amazing journey of self-love. So nice that your partner is behind you cheering you on. Jo-Ann
