Hello Body Changes,

Ever looked back over 50 years of photos?  If you are planning any family anniversary or memorial, you get the opportunity to look over how your life has evolved.  You see the faces that have helped define you who are.  You see the smiling faces, the memories, the big events, family, friends and adventures.  The photos are sure to bring a smile to your face.

Here is one thing that you might also notice, some time around the mid 80’s, everyone was fit, trim and the kids were are tall or short but the right weight for their body.  Fast forward another 20 years and we all increased in size – and no I am not just talking about getting taller.

This is really not our fault.  In this stat filled presentation by Robyn O’Brien you will learn how your food changed without you knowing it.  You ate the same amount but could not figure out why you gained so much. Confused?  Well, this TEDx Austin presentation might provide you with the answers.

I can thankfully say that my extended family has made huge changes to their eating habits in the last year.  Many have gone gluten-free or dairy-free and have seen dramatic changes to their bowel challenges, allergies and have dropped weight too.

Your Actions to Take Control of your food:

  • Read the labels on your food.  If you don’t know what the ingredient is, it is likely not good for you.
  • Eat whole foods.  The closer to food is to its original state, the better it is for you.
  • Look for non-GMO labeled foods.  Organic foods usually are non-GMO.  Visit to get a better understanding of the GMO issues.
  • Add more veggies and fruit to your daily intake and eat less processed foods.  Your body will thank you.
  • Select protein sources from grass fed, free range, antibiotic-free sources when possible.

We can’t be perfect all the time but we can certainly try to make changes to the way we eat some of the time.   By the way, you have until Sunday, March 31, 2013 to watch Hungry for Change free.  It will also help you understand other things that have changed to your food without you knowing it.

I can’t wait to look forward in another 20 years and see how thin and trim we all are as we understood what we put into our bodies and made the changes to lead healthier, more active, joyful lives.

May your day be filled new beginnings and a richer knowledge of your food.
